Robbie Wade

Robbie Wade 2011 is Robbie's first year as a pro triathlete. A longtime runner, Robbie ran for Ireland as a junior at the European Cross Country Championships and first came to the states for college on a running scholarship. In college, he ran 14:26 for the 5k and 30:06 for the 10k. He was a two time NCAA Championship qualifier in cross country.

In 2009, he made the shift to multisport. That year, he won Powerman Florida. In 2010, Robbie was the 2nd overall amateur at both the New York City Triathlon and Columbia, finishing faster than most pros. Robbie qualified for the 70.3 World Championships in Clearwater where he took 3rd on the strength of a 2:07 bike. Robbie also qualified and raced in the 2010 U.S. Open in Dallas.

Murphy's Law came into play for me this weekend! First off I had to borrow a bike to race as I had a shipping issue with Fedex, I connected with Kevin Saunders of KGS bikes on Friday and we set about getting me fitting on his bike. I was happy to be able to get a machine to race and didn't care that it was a little big for me

European Duathlon Championships

Race Report

European Duathlon Championships

Overall I'm happy with my performance and can't complain in that respect, however just missing the front pack by 20secs or so  after the first 10k is teasing !

Tune Up for European Championships

Butlerstown Duathlon

Today I did my last real tune up for next weekends race (European Championships). The goal was to put in a solid effort, focus on relaxing and rolling. Easier said than done sometimes for us. Fast comes from being relaxed and reminding ourselves of it, but in the heat of the moment we forget this.
